Patient and Public Involvement

Our Patient and Public Involvement groups (PPI) are a way for those dealing with anxiety or depression first-hand to share their experiences with our researchers.

We have a group of young people aged 13-18 who meet twice a term to discuss their own experiences of anxiety or depression, working alongside researchers to improve the work being carried out here at the University of Reading. In addition, there is a parents PPI group who meet at the same time as their children in order to share their perspectives on the research being conducted.

The aim of these groups is to create a shared understanding of what it is like to live with anxiety or depression, and ultimately, to improve the standard of research being carried out to benefit the lives of others in a similar position.
